  • Your Mac's model. Apple menu > About This Mac. If it won't turn on, the model number is printed on the underside of a MacBook or under the stand of an iMac.
  • What it is doing. When it started, and whether it followed a drop, a spill or an update.
  • Your data. Tell us if there are files you need kept.
